Our Founder
Dan is a lifelong Catholic and native of Detroit. He attended Servite High School and studied Finance at Michigan State. Later, he went on to get a Masters in Catechetics from Christendom College’s Notre Dame Graduate School.
Dan and his wife, Jenn opened the Catholic Shop in Madeira, Ohio in 1998, and it has served the religious and spiritual needs of countless Catholics since that time.
Dan is known for his fervent devotion to St. Joseph, and believes that the shop came through the direct intercession of St. Joseph.
It is due to Dan’s devotion that we have this website for the glory of God and the dissemination of “All Things Joseph.”
Color Scheme of this Site
The colors we have chosen for this site are shades of brown and yellow. The browns are meant to symbolize the garments of a worker and the humble beauty of family life. The yellow tones are like the golden honey of worker bees, a symbol of the sweetness of heaven.
The Feature Images (top panels of pages) are all taken from traditional or artistic renderings of St. Joseph in biblical scenes or in his family life: Joseph with Our Lady; Joseph receiving the message of an angel; Joseph with Jesus; Jesus teaching Joseph by the light of a candle.
The color of all links is red as a reminder of the earthy father who prepared his Son to take up His Mission as Messiah and Sacrificial Lamb for the world’s sins.
