Feast of St. Joseph the Worker
Fr Ronald Vierling on X

St. Joseph holds a distinguished place in Catholic piety as the foster father of Jesus Christ and the husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary. A humble carpenter from Nazareth, he exemplified the dignity of honest labor through his daily toil, providing for his family with quiet devotion and integrity. Though the Gospels offer limited details about his life, portraying him as a just man who obeyed divine guidance, his example has inspired generations to view human labor not merely as a necessity but as a participation in God’s own creative work.

One of the most beautiful elements of Mary, Queen of the Universe Shrine in Orlando is a little chapel tucked in the far back corner of the church. You’d easily miss it if you weren’t looking for it, but it’s a fitting tribute that Our Lady’s basilica offers to Mary’s husband, St. Joseph.
As you walk down the aisle and approach the chapel, you feel drawn into the scene, as though you were right there in the workshop with Jesus and Joseph….
